About Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn Furnish grew up predominantly on the west side of Washington state, being born in Tacoma and spent her first few years of life there. She moved around a little as a child to Georgia, then Illinois, before completing the circuit back to the beautiful PNW.

Always the wild child, she had a strong sense of self from the very beginning. Wherever she went she would test boundaries and forge the path she wanted for herself. She led with her heart and when entering high school, found her purpose looking her in the face. She saw the brokenness of families, the hardships of children, and the struggles of young adults around her. She knew she could one day make a difference in the lives she was seeing, and so she did.
Kaitlyn graduated from Bethel High School with a 4.0 GPA, honors, and was ranked #9 out of roughly 1,700 students. She curated her studies and high school electives around social environments, health, and community. The lack of empathy, kindness, and guidance among friends and acquaintances that needed it the most spurred her further into action.
She majored in at Washington State University (WSU) and worked as a nurse for a few years before solidifying her place in the mental health field. During her time there, she met and married her husband, Tyler, and soon welcomed their first son, followed by their second son a few years later. She opened her practice, ‘Strong Roots,’ the namesake for her own values growing up, and strives to help others secure and fortify their own path in this world, from the roots up.
When she’s not in the office, you can usually find her being a wife and mom, exploring the trails around Spokane, traveling, gardening, crafting, or reading a good book. Though she stays busy, she always takes time to ground herself in her compassion, family, and the strong roots she grew along the way.
